MTBM TCI Roller Cutters

Microtunneling roller cutters, called Milltooth roller cutter, TCI roller cutter, also called insert roller cutters, button roller cutters. Cutter Housing is forged with alloy steel and inserted conical tungsten carbide tips, so they have high wear resistance and a longer service life. It fits all makes of Micro Tunneling Machines used in any variety of soils and ground conditions.

The cutters are always exposed to abrasive muck when excavating in soft and mixed ground, while the cutters might be crashed when boring in hard rock. All the other cutter parts are appropriately heat-treated to improve wear resistance and prevent deformation. While special design in bearing and seal, so the cutters can rotate freely and are prevented from being blocked.

The engineers have been striving to develop the most advanced roller cutters. Our roller cutters have reasonable structure, good effect in rock breaking, strong wear-resisting, high pressure resistance. Their characteristics as followed:

  1. Housing and shaft are forged with high-grade alloy steel and are fully heat treatment.
  2. Personalized housing and shaft design, installation to meet the needs of various types of pipe jacking equipment and return well.
  3. According to the characteristics of the mechanical properties of rock formations, using computational analysis methods, optimization of teeth arranged in a row, the number of teeth and tooth accurately calculate the maximum cutting of efficiency, the direction of movement of each row of teeth, so that every single tooth contact hole wall generated when broken area and volume maximum.
  4. TOSI engineers have optimization bearing and cat seal to improve the ability of closeness, prevent oil leakage and foreign matter intrusion, and then extend the lifetime of roller cutters.
  5. The shape, size, grades of tungsten carbides are based on the actual condition choice, able to adapt to 30Mpa to 200Mpa various types of rock excavation.

After the production of roller cutters, our professional quality inspectors must test them from final torque pressure test, air pressure test and oil leakage test, to ensure that every product are 100% qualified.
