SMD Drilling Viscosifier CLAY FIX(powder form) is a mutifunctional polymer additive designed to provide core protection, cuttings encapsulation and shale stabilization in freshwater to saltwater drilling fluids ranging from low solids to weighted muds. CLAY FIX acts as a viscosifier, friction reducer, while also providing some fluid-loss control.

Application/Function

• Improves shale stabilization
• Enhances removal of drill solids
• Readily dispersible and does not form “fish eyes”
• Excellent cuttings encapsulation limits cuttings dispersion
• Can be used to viscosify clear-water and low-solids drilling fluids

Recommended Treatment

Add Shale Inhibitor CLAY FIX in the concentration of 1.0 to 3.0 kg/m³ to any active system. Mix slowly through a jet mixer or sift slowly into the vortex of a high-speed stirrer.
